Thank you for opening your heart and home to a pet in need. Adding an adopted pet to your family is an exciting time. We look forward to seeing you at our Care Center.

SEAACA's adoption fees for dogs and cats include the first set of vaccinations, microchip and flea treatment. Dogs and cats will be spayed or neutered, however some adoptions may require an additional spay/neuter deposit. 

 

 

 

 

 

ADOPTION FEES:

  • Dog:
    • 8 weeks to 6 months: $200
    • 6 months and 1 day to 12 months: $175 -$150.00 After 2 Available Days
    • 1 year and 1 day to 5 years: $150 -$100.00 After 2 Days Available
    • 5 years and 1 day and older: $100         -$50.00 After 2 Days Available
    • (Additional spay/neuter deposit may be required)
  • Cat:
    • 6 weeks to 12 months: $120
    • 1 year and 1 day to 5 years: $100
    • 5 years and 1 day and older: $60
    • (Additional spay/neuter deposit may be required)
  • All Rabbits: $50 (includes microchip)
  • Other animals: Please inquire at SEAACA's front office.

There are special event discounts  or promotions which may apply to the animal you wish to adopt. Our Customer Service Representatives will advise if any apply to your adoption.

ADOPTION HOLDS:

Interested in adopting an animal not yet “available”? Here's how you can add a new member to your family. When animals are brought to the SEAACA Animal Care Center, they are held for a specific number of days to allow owners to reunite with their lost pets.

Throughout the holding period time, interested residents or SEAACA Adoption Partners (refer to Adoption Partner page for information and application) may place an "adoption hold" on the animal as a potential adopter. In order to place an adoption hold on a pet, there is a $50.00 non-refundable (exceptions apply) hold fee that is due at the time the hold is placed. This hold fee can be charged in person or over the phone and secures an exclusive adoption appointment that temporarily reserves the animal for the adopter. When placing a hold, there are a few things to note:

  • The $50.00 hold fee is in addition to the original and/or promotional adoption fee.
  • If the $50.00 hold fee is charged over the phone, the adopter is required to provide a photo of their ID and payment card at the time of the adoption.
  • No rescheduling will be allowed.
  •  Adoption holds are limited to 2 animals per adopter/household at a time.
  • The $50.00 hold fee cannot be transferred to another pet.
  • Adopters have a 2-hour window from their scheduled appointment time. If the adopter misses the 2-hour window, the pet becomes available to the public.
  • Adoption holds can be placed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. No adoption holds will be made on Saturdays. Saturday adoptions are on a walk-in basis only.

The $50.00 hold fee may be refunded under the following circumstances:

  • The animal is reclaimed by their legal owner prior to adoption.
  • The animal is transferred for emergency medical treatment, urgent rescue placement, or another agency directed lifesaving intervention prior to the adoption appointment or is humanely euthanized due to medical reasons.
  • SEAACA and the adopter become aware of a previously undisclosed serious illness (excluding kennel cough), injury, or significant behavioral concern after the hold fee has been received, and the adopter declines to proceed with the adoption.
  • SEAACA determines that the animal is unable to be publicly adopted.

 If a pet is not claimed by their owner, there is an opportunity for the public to adopt the animal into their family once they become available. In-Person Adoptions are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm & Thursday 9:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

ADOPTION RELEASES

Some animals may be released to go home the same day as the adoption appointment/walk-in. Other animals may be released at a later date and time. The release date and time will be provided to the adopter after the successful completion of the adoption, which includes processing paperwork and receiving payment.
