Executive Director Prepares Agency for Upcoming Departure

After over 18 years with SEAACA, Executive Director Announces Departure and Supports Strong Future for the Organization)

Downey, CA — The Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA) is preparing for a leadership transition as current Executive Director, Denise Woodside, announces her departure to pursue a new opportunity. The transition will occur in early January 2026.

Woodside joined SEAACA more than 18 years ago and has played a key role in expanding services, building programs, improving animal care and strengthening community partnerships. Woodside emphasized that she is leaving on positive terms and remains confident in SEAACA’s future.

“I am proud of the growth and progress SEAACA has continuously made over the years,” said Denise Woodside. “It has been truly rewarding to witness firsthand the positive changes and impact made in efforts to increase animal lifesaving and serve the community. I additionally want to express my sincere gratitude to SEAACA’s team, my professional colleagues, dedicated community groups and committed community members who continue to have an impact on the health and safety of the community and their pets. It has been an honor to serve at SEAACA.”
